Finally, Stop Worrying About Food Allergies at School

This comprehensive template is your toolkit for more food allergy safety and less stress about school.

It's not too late to talk to your school about food allergies.

Food allergy safety at school or daycare can't fall through the cracks because it could mean anaphylaxis. Even so, food allergy education usually falls on parent's shoulders.

So how will you educate the school and staff before you leave your child with them?

This school allergy plan template gives you a thorough and clear list of questions & scenarios to discuss so you can feel confident leaving your child.

This template was 13 years and over 100 hours in the making...

But it's available for you to use NOW.

After using it, you'll know your child's teacher & school are prepared so you can relax.

Lowering stress and anxiety will help your child focus on learning and making friends instead of food allergies.

That's priceless.

Researching on your own is causing you to miss so much because you don't know what you don't know. It's time to get the full story from someone with proven experience.

If your school already has a nut ban (or other allergy ban) in place OR they
already take part in yearly training, you may need this template EVEN more because it's easy to think that everything's covered.

But what about PREVENTING anaphylaxis and INCLUDING your child?
These are just as important and are often NOT covered in the basic training.

Navigating food allergies at school is tough because...

Worrying about a severe reaction when you're not there is super stressful.

But even if your teacher & school handle food allergies well, without this template, the little things can become frustrating too!

For example...

The teacher sends an email the day before with a last-minute request for safe treats so your child can be included in the class event.

Of course, you would do anything for your child, but a little notice would help you shop for ingredients and bake without staying up past midnight to get it done! This can happen several times per year.

All this stress and frustration can be avoided using this organized template.

It's not too late to talk to your teacher and school about food allergies.

What Parents Have Said About This Template:

“I bought your course and it was so helpful!

I was able to meet with the Principal and Nurse and get them on our side. It helped them understand food allergies better. We were able to get all of his accommodations met once they understood why they were needed.

It was a huge win!"

 -Lindsay M.

“This template is exactly what I've been looking for! It's incredibly helpful, clear, organized, and helps me be sure I've got all of my thoughts across in a kind and calm manner.

Many thanks!"

 -Carissa M.

“This template is incredible. It's so thorough and will be very helpful when I meet with Emma's teacher this fall. Thank you again for creating this. I'll use it for many years to come!"

 -Lise V.

This template isn't just tips from an online food allergy blogger.

It's a comprehensive template with 13 years of research & real school experience behind it.

Can you create your own food allergy school plan?

Of course, but...

  •  You'll spend hours and hours researching classroom protocols, accommodations, and safety measures (I estimate I've spent about 8-10 hours/year over 13 years which is 104 hours ).

  •  You'll wonder if you're asking too much or if you've done enough.

  •  You'll have to find a way to document everything you talk about and remember who's doing what.

  •  You'll need to make sure everything is easy to understand and organized for overwhelmed teachers.

  •  You might forget important things like I did in the beginning. For example, did you think about how substitute teachers are informed about your child's allergens OR what happens when there's a field trip? These are just a couple of easy-to-forget questions.

Save time & effort, and feel completely confident!

FAQs

  • Who's this template for?
Parents of food allergy kids in childcare/daycare, preschool, kindergarten, elementary, or junior high school who want to increase safety and decrease worry about food allergies at school.

    OR

Seasoned allergy parents who feel like food allergies haven't been handled well by their teacher or school and they want to ensure a better outcome this year and in the future.

    OR

Any parent who wants to make their daycare/school allergy meeting or training easier and less time-consuming, without sacrificing safety.
  • Is this a 504 plan?
No, but it can give you a huge head start for creating your 504 plan.

This template includes everything that has worked for our food allergy school meetings after 13 years of testing, perfecting, practical knowledge & school meeting experience. It's the perfect starting point so you can use it as-is OR simply add or take away based on your needs.

It's also handy to use as a training guideline for a group of teachers or caregivers.
  • Does this work for my school?
Yes. This template will work as a starting point for any school or daycare or preschool in USA or Canada.

The nature of severe food allergies is the same everywhere, so this will likely work for schools in other countries, but in full disclosure, it has not been tested there yet.
  • Can you trust it?
Giving accurate information is really important to me. Not only do I take massive amounts of time to research everything I create with trusted sources, but I also add my 16 years of practical knowledge (13 of those spent in school).  Then I run it by other food allergy mamas for their input and feedback.   You can trust this resource and all of my resources.
  • What allergies is this for?
This template will work for one or more anaphylactic food allergies. It doesn't matter whether it's peanut, tree nut, egg, milk, soy, sesame, wheat, shellfish/fish, mustard, or any allergies outside the top allergen list. If your child carries an EpiPen (or another epinephrine injector), then this template is for you, even if they haven't had a serious reaction in the past.
  • Is it safe to buy online?
Yes. I use Stripe as a payment processor which is also used by Amazon and Shopify so you can feel confident your credit card information is secure.

Once you make the payment, watch your inbox for an email from corinna@friendlypantry.com which contains the file. If you don't see it after 20 minutes, make sure to check your junk or spam folder and mark it as safe. If you still don't see it, email corinna@friendlypantry.com and we'll get it sorted out asap!
  • Why is this template better than just watching & following food allergy people on social media?
Social media is a great place to find tips and tricks. I love it for that. But when it comes to something complicated like advocating for food allergies at school, there is no way to get EVERYTHING you need to know from a few 30-second social media and even blog posts.

Next, ask yourself how much experience the people you follow have. If they've only been navigating school for a few years, they have not proven their strategies. Frankly, many social media accounts can't compare to the extensive school experience we have.
I've made this mistake in the past and want to stop it from happening to you.
  • Why is this template better than learning from experience to see what works and what doesn't?
Honestly, learning from experience is great. That's how I learned!

    But here's the thing...
While you're learning, some things don't work. When that happens it takes away confidence and replaces it with stress and worry.
Trust me, make a small investment now so you can start off in the BEST way possible to make your school year safer, and more inclusive.

I've done the hard part so you don't have to!
  • Can I guarantee school will be completely allergy-safe?
Of course, I can't guarantee that you or your child will be completely safe from food allergies at school, but I can help you feel completely confident and make things as safe as possible.
  • Are refunds available?
Due to the digital nature of this product, refunds are not available.
